Different topic. Something I've never understood. The statue of Liberty was a gift to the US from France. France was hugely instumental in your war against the British which led to your independence. So why the animosity towards France? Why the "you'd be speaking German if it wasn't for us". I mean wouldn't you all be under British rule still if it wasn't for them? I've always wondered about this.
