What you do is go down and file for an order of support once the baby is born. The ex can tell him she doesn't want him near that baby, but the court will make him pay for that baby. If he isn't willing to act like a father then he needs to pay for the right not to. I'd hammer him to the wall personally, and then go out and find you a good man. I did and now not only does the ex have to pay through the nose for the kid he refuses to see but the kid also has a loving daddy in my DH.
