Anyone here ever been on foodstamps?
I haven't but I was a grocery store cashier when I was in school and I saw a lot of food stamps. I always had to explain to people that they couldn't use them for toys, cooked food, or anything besides groceries.
You could tell the actual poor people from the scammers pretty easily. Poor people would buy milk, bread, canned goods, meat, cheese, etc. Assholes stealing from the government would use their vouchers on Coke, candy, and junk food, not exactly necessities that tax money should be paying for.
I like the WIC program here in Indiana better. Single moms and poor moms get vouchers that can only be used for certain necessities like milk, baby formula, cereal, juice, etc. They can't even cash in for cereal that's full of sugar...it has to be a halfway healthy cereal.
