Brian mulrooney won a huge landlslide majority in 84 and they never legislated morality. Same with mike harris in ontario. Its just different here, politicians dont see themselves on a mission from god.

First... it was one of Stockwell Day's main issue during last elections.. having a referendum on restricting abortions...
Second... polls shows that Canadians are in majority against gay marriages... and if I remeber correctly.. the abortion issue is fairly close...
Third... the current Conservatives party is NOT teh progressive conservatives of JOe Clark.,.. they are actually the Alliance/Reform party... a true conservative party that seem to model themselves on the US republicans...
And finally... God has nothing to do with restricting online porn... it is just a conservative dream... and there's no way to know how the supreme court will handle this...
