really that depends on how big of a sample that is from... I used to log all the IP's for my site -- after a couple of weeks it seemed like maybe 40% of all traffic is non-unique anyway -- so I think "uniques" is a pointless indicator since so many surfers share the same IP... Now I use cookies and measure "behavior"...

A good way to check for a hitbot may be to compare a javascripted list of IP's to your server IP's... If some of the IP's that are really repeating on your server don't show up in the javascript stats then you're probably being screwed... I think it's pretty hard for a hitbot to jake javascript... but really any very determined programmer will be able to fool just about anyone...

I personally pay a team of about 50 hungry Danish webmasters to just click links all day... they're harder to detect than bots hahaha... that's how I generate most of my traffic...
