Why don't you just go out with her, relax and have some fun. Maybe something happends, maybe not. At least you will have a good time and get to know her a bit better ( I asume that you don't know her that well, because your ex told you not to talk to her). No need to get stressed before hands right?

The girl is totally hot, laying low together and being kinda sneaky is fun, safe and sexy!!!! After you get to know her better and you feel that you could actually date her or care for her, then you both can deal with the ex together later on. (if you need to)
