It's based on perception of people in each of the industries and them not wanting to be seen as the other. People perceive that their profession is different from others, because in "society's view" one may be looked down upon. The issue only exists if they're not comfortable with who they are and what they do. Mind you, whenever someone does something that is looked down upon (in "society's view") then it makes it easy for other people to attack them. Oy, I hope that's understandable.
