cause i don't get it. i understand the search option is eating a huge amount of performance, but on the other hand:
- it's all about resources. for a person like lensman, what can possibly the big problem with adding a couple of servers? that shouldn't be _that_ expensive for a big guy with a large server park already.
- gfy is very popular advertising space, so money actually comes in.
- besides of the money coming in, it's a HUGE advantage for lensman's image, reputation, contacts and status. i.e. a big pro for his business.
- bottom line is; lensman launched this board for a reason - money (directly or indirectly). now if it isn't bringing him this, he would have shut the board down a long time ago right? why would he continue something that doesn't benefit his business at all? so the board is a positive thing for him. that means; the more activity/visitors/posts the better.
add the fact that gfy has devaluated dramatically since the search is gone, at least for a webmaster like myself. now it's only for killing time or for tame moods. before it was the best information source of the industry.

bottom bottom line: lensman, why the h#ck did you disable that search?!? who gets better by that?
What he said....
