Thx wizardsoftware... you make nice stuff too. =) Although we didn't model
TGP Daemon after any other software, it does share some of the same features. It's kind of funny that I didn't make the connection between the two until I read this post. LOL...
Nastylusk... TGP Daemon is more than capable of doing exactly what you want (and more). It doesn't have the exact features that the other product has but it's cheaper AND extremely flexible. In my opinion, the products are completely different but share some similiar features. TGP Daemon can be used across domains (on the same server) as an example. Our licensing is per-server instead of per-domain. Here are some more examples.
It automatically randomizes your galleries.
You can set it up to show your galleries anyway that you would like... Say you want to have all of your galleries shown by niche and each niche randomized. All you have to do is create a template for each niche (or 1 template that will be used for all niches) and then create a template that includes the niche templates (html includes) in the layout that you want. A Master template. Then you just make the text import files with your niched galleries, set the configuration file and run the build.php script (or have cron run it).
Basically, you can have it do pretty much whatever you want as long as you are working with text links or thumbnail links. This even includes generating the gallery pages themselves. We kept it simple for a good reason... flexibility. We thought about it and realized that a slick admin interface would limit the flexibility and lock us into a particular workflow. We prefer the KISS method.
