THis is why I only buy expensive Prime Meat:

The US Department of Agriculture labels downers "high-risk or suspect" but allows their use for hamburger, soups and hot dogs.

For those not familiar with the issue, downers are cows too siick to walk by themselves or can't stand up anymore, so they have to drag them up.
