The husbands Aunt found some oil stocks in the house they bought in Indiana, the front part having been the office for a real small oil company way back. They had one well out back capped off.
Anyhow, she started to just stick them with some other toys and stuff they had found.. She got to thinking about them and started checking on who the company had been etc. Turns out after that small venture had been bought out about 40 times that stock converted to Standard Oil! It was only about 20k, but she could have pitched them out and never thought. Pays to look carefully in old houses!!
