A swarm of young cicadas encircle a tree as they look for a place to shed their shells at a residence on Elk Creek Road near Trenton, Ohio, on May 18. After their 17 year nap, the cicadas started showing up in enormous numbers throughout the area on May 17. They'll be gone in 6 weeks and will come back in 17 years again.
