A lot of people in Pakistan and India speak English because of the past where the British had control of their countries.
The Taliban has roots in Pakistan. A lot of the time the massive border between them and Afghanistan is just a formailty. So a lot of the people in Pakistan that are calling Bin Laden a hero are of the same sort of stock as him.
I am just now on tv watching a news report on Pakistan's opinion towards the US and one point that keeps comming up over and over is that some feel resentment because they were supported during the cold war and then when it was over the US pulled out all support. So, they feel used.
Sure that isn't the while reason just a part of it.
