As far as the tattoos and piercings go, I realize that I would be more marketable without them, but I figure I'll be modelling on my site for such a short portion of my life (assuming I have a somewhat decent lifespan) that I should do what I enjoy with my body instead of what would be the most appealing to others. Also, if I do things this way, when people do visit my site and enjoy my photos we're likely to have more in common than if they liked the way I looked but I didn't.
I did have to remove my nipple piercings a couple of months ago due to some other health problems (I have a mild metal allergy that went haywire while I was ill), but I'm hoping to get them pierced again when I can afford it. I hear there are some glass or plastic options available now and I might look into those when I can...
