You didn't single-handedly save the universe from Hitler or Hirohito, you're not the only country owed a debt of gratitude from Europe. Try studying some actual history and you'd know that. Yes your <i>ancestors</i> "done good" in WW II, but so did mine, so did the Brits, so did the Aussies and so did soldiers from a dozen other nations. If you want that kind of respect and a pat on the back then you yourself have to earn it, and having an arrogant "we saved your ass single-handedly" attitude isn't the way to get it.
