Jim, I am not sure about this, but I don't think she voted "that these mutants
should go scott-free". I think she voted that bombing everyone in site doesn't stop the terrorist, but creates more problems. Which most of us would have to agree. How can you bomb anyone if you don't know who the attacker is? It's most likely not a country that is the attacker.

The scary part is that with all the new security in effect, this would not stop them from doing it again. It seems to me the easiest way to stop (this particular style of attack) is to make sure the fucking airports keep a track of their planes. Is there any logical reason why the plane's transponding should even have the ability to be turned off? It seems as though if everyone knew the plane was hijacked, with our current knowledge that these types of suicidal attacks are likely (which i understand didn't exist back then), then wouldn't the military be able to do something about it? I guess it would be a scary thought to have a gun down a plane full of innocents to save a few thousand. Ouch.

Any thoughts?
