This is what I think Kerry should pledge to do in the campaign.

First off, there is no incentive for the U.N. or any of the European powers to get involved? Why? Because the United States already has 130,000 troops there and have made the commitment from Bush that we're staying regardless!

So Kerry should pledge to bring ALL the troops home within 6-9 months on his inaguaration as President.

Then, the U.N. will be much more inclined to do something. Why?
For starters, the French, Germans, and ESPECIALLY the Russians are going to be very uncomfortable. Russian is already having problems with Moslem extremists (Chechnya), France has the largest Moslem population in Europe, and geographically, all of Europe is much closer to Iraq than the U.S.

As it is now, they're thinking: "Good, let the crazy Americans stay there and do the job and get killed!" But if the US suddenly pulls its troops out, ALL of the surrounding countries, INCLUDING Israel will NOT be happy (Despite what they may say officially).

And for that matter, if Israel then wants to come in and clean out Iraq..I could care less!
