Thus far ... pretty much all of the response I have got to this idea has been negative !! People thinking that I am trying to put a price on th lives lost, or that I think a bit of money will solve all the problems ...
I am very deeply saddened that that is how my peers see me ...
I KNOW THAT NO AMOUNT OF MONEY WILL RIGHT THE WRONGS OF THIS TRAGEDY ... AND NO AMOUNT OF MONEY WILL COMPENSATE FOR WHAT PEOPLE HAVE LOST !!!
I just thought that a collective effort on behalf of all of us would be a great gesture of goodwill to "help" the victims rebuild their lives!!
My wife and I made a considerable donation (considerable, when we are barely getting by ...), and all we will get from it is a tax receipt, and a warm feeling in our hearts that we were able to help ...
I alpologize for offending anybody, as that was not my intentions at all.
