Nostradamus's predictions are not unlike Daniel and the book of Revelations in the bible, in that he was trying to describe visions and events that he could not possibly understand, so vagueness is expected. In Revelations, for example, you have imagery of giant insects spitting fire from the sky and land. This
could be descriptions of helicopters and tanks, things that people of that era would have no other way of describing. The key words here are "could be", and it applies to all of Nostradamus's predictions as well. That vagueness leaves the door open for interpretation, and the entertainment media of today LOVES it when that door is open, they use that margin of interpretation to suit their own agendas.
However, the image of the world trade center as being "two brothers torn apart" is quite haunting no matter how you interpret it.
