Bottom line is the law of Supply & demand is a law far stronger than any law our goverment can impose. You can complain & whine about it as much as you like, but a better idea would be to prepare yourself, rather than depend on the government to bail you out everytime.
$20 in canned food will last you 2 weeks.
Dont buy fucken freaze dried shit! get stuff you would actually want to eat, then if you don't need it in a situation, you can still eat it normally.
Gas, SHit how hard is it to keep one or two extra 5 gallon cans in your garage or shed?
cost you another $20. Rotate it occasionally.
(Comes in handy sometimes, you dont have time to run down to gas station before work, & half of us have lawn mowers)
Water bottled water last like 2 years, water filters are $20. In worst situation nearly all of us are close to a lake, pond or swiming pool.
I'M not agreeing with price gouging, but the bottom line is they own it, & you want it. Bussness is about getting the highest possible price the market will bear. Gas stations aren't there to hand out charity. When, the U.S. is dealt its largest blow in history, & the future is slightly uncertain, then that possible price is pretty fucken high!
