I've studied the Bible since I was in kindergarten, I went to a religious school all my life. I don't remember reading about God ever instructing the Israelites to kill anyone. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm not, but I do have a bad memory.
As far as religion being the cause of much hatred and wars I agree with you. Its just ridiculous how these people are killing and murdering left and right and they can call themselves holy and followers of God. Bunch of hypocrits.
