Up there at the top click tools, the choose internet options, then click use blank... it should show about:blank in box.

You can also open regedit.exe (in C
then choose HKEY_CURRENT_USER
then Software
then Microsoft
then Internet Explorer
then start opening the little folders until you find some with bullshit search urls and make the default 0 (that's a zero).
