Actually that's not true. One of my mother's best-friends son is over in Iraq. And, he said you can't trust the kids, because they'll come up to you with a brown bag or something and sometimes they'll be bombs, other times, a soda or something. Soldiers were also told to aim at anybody that runs up to a tank with a package in their hands. But one time on a convoy, he had like a 6 maybe 7 or 8 yr old kid come running up to the tank he was in, and he was the gunner on top, and he had to point the gun at the kid the whole time, but that kid had a brown bag in his hand, so he didn't know what it was.

Now this photo, this is totally different. It doesn't look like a threat, but you never know. Ofcourse, you don't know the full story and what was happening there, so you can't say that it wasn't right. What if the kid ran towards the soldier with something in his hand, and the photographer just took a snapshot right when the parents came and grabbed the kid?

You need to think of it in the soldiers view, it's either me or him. Me personally, I would try my hardest to not make it me that's laying on the ground! Just my
