Busty was not a one man site by any means.
The owners decided to close the program, they notified all their resellers more than 30 days prior to actually closing it down.
No new sales were taken in the last 30 days and no rebills were done either -- in order to avoid any refund or chargeback issues after the site was closed.
As to the busty2 or the truecash deal, one could speculate that certain employees of Busty might have had access to the webmaster list and the desire to get one last paycheck out of it.
