People many times confuse genital warts with herpes. Both can be transmitted very easily. I'd much rather get the warts than herpes. You are stuck with herpes for life. With the warts, you can have them removed. A wart is a wart. You see it or feel it. With herpes, it can stay hidden until you have an active outbreak which is noticeable to the eye. Of course, testing HIV positive is much worse, but there are so many other sexually transmitted diseases that can cause you grief.
Know your partner. Do a body check and then cross your fingers that she/he is telling you the truth.
