The Human Rights Watch/US State Department figures of 300,000 murders in the period 1988-2003, the majority of which occurred during 1988-91, seems to be settled. Some say this is a conservative number.

In 16 years Saddam Hussein murdered 300,000 people or so.

That's roughly 18,750 murders on average per year.

In a little over a year, you say Mr. Bush has "murdered" 10,000 Iraqi Civillians?

Could an argument not be made, that in fact 8,750 were saved instead?

I understand that most of this killing was some time ago, and Saddam would not likely have killed another near 20,000 people were he still in power this year. On the same hand though, I also don't see 300,000 Iraqi civillians being killed by the US in the next 15 or so years. If that's what in fact happens, I'll eat my words.
