In many of his speeches, Bush would use the example of how Saddam controlled Iraq through fear and torture. This was one of his selling points on why Saddam should be removed.

Obviously, it's extremely hypocritical to chastise Saddam for torturing his enemies, and then go and do the same thing yourself.
