I had a pretty bad problem with the booze, I quit cold turkey, did'nt drink for about 5 months, now I can drink socialy or not drink at all. I keep it in my mind that I have a problem controling my drinking, so when I do drink maybe once a month or so I will only have about 3 or 4 beers and then switch to soda. It works for me , I know it would'nt work for most problem drinkers. But if you feel you need to quit you probably should at least for a few months. You'd be supprised how much better you will feel.
