You know what. I am so against frivolous lawsuits, but I have to totally agree with you there, Brad. This is awful.
I was made the subject of public ridicule by more than one teacher in my school. I was a big geek, I totally admit that. But you know, some of the stuff those people did really messed me up for a really long time. I had major self-esteem issues for over a decade and only in the past few years have I been able to surpass that. This will really hurt that kid, especially in the long run.
And Sweetums is right about sending them that tape. The really sad thing is that when I saw the report of those kids in Columbine, I was really heartbroken, I didn't agree with what they did one bit, but I understood. I've seen what drives kids to do these things. Either to themselves or to others. The sad thing is that when kids hurt themselves, they are seen as weak. It's a shame they had to go and hurt others for people to finally notice that something is wrong in our schools.
And these coaches will probably get a slap on the wrist for this, but that kid will have to live with that moment of shame the rest of his life. Grrr.
