Yamashiro's in the Hollywood Hills. It's pretty good multi-Asian food but the view is absolutely awesome. If you don't want the view but just want a bit of Chinese check out Genghis Cohens.
3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica on a Saturday afternoon is always a favorite. Then you can hit the pier at dusk and watch the Sunset.
Universal Citywalk has a bunch of cool bars and such that aren't too touristy. It's a cool spot to see.
