The Original Pantry is open 24 hours and located in downtown Los Angeles. It is a great place to stop for a bite after a Laker's game at the Staples Center. The Pantry is at its best for breakfast where the portions are large and the service fast and friendly. Ex-Mayor Richard Riordan owns The Pantry so it is a natural that politicians meet there for power breakfast meetings. The meals are American diner food at bargain prices. Be sure to bring cash because they don't accept credit cards.

Breakfrast for two: Less than $15
Entrees: $5-15

The Pantry is the first restaurant I visited when I came to LA. It was crowded, and you had to sit at tables with strangers, sorta like Benihana's. The steak I ordered was the largest piece of meat I have ever seen on a plate.
