If you've spent your life in a 'seat down' environment and wake at 5am then you just expect the seat to be there ready to pee over - if a guy wakes up in the middle of the night he has to decide if he wants a stand-up pee or a sit-down shit. I'm always the last to bed at night and make sure I leave the seat up for by b/f in the morning, just common courtesy.
