If you have a history through a third-party processor, that would certainly count, and the factors that are looked at are chargeback rates of less than 1, or 1 1/2 percent, and a reasonable volume. Obviously the higher the batter.
In fact, the questions that I would ask in order to determine the best merchant account solution would be as follows:
Please give me a full description of your business model:
Can you supply good financial statements?
Do you have any processing history?
How long for?
With who?
What were your chargback rates?
What are your projected volumes per month in the first 90 days and >the first 180 days, and why?
Please list the URL(s) that the business will use
Where are you incorporated?
Can/will you incorporate elsewhere if necessary?
