"telling you what sponsors you can use and what hosts you can use... now they are telling you what recips you can have and not?" is an "attack" to link-sites in general and indeed an attack to my way of doing business. It's just taken the wrong way KimmyKim. I think it's really stupid that people still make statements like these. Link-sites link what they like. It's their site. And in this case I do defend against a post like the one you made as being it directly targeted to me. No guilt about it, just common sense.
I do think surfers should be looked after, yes, on the Internet just as well as in any other business. Your statement of "given free bandwidth" is of the level I expected from you. People should know what's for sale out there. Then they'll pay. I know people that have been surfing my site and bought a membership to a site every now and then. That's ONE person buying more than one membership. THAT'S long-term income. Why do you think people still advertise with me? Cause they only loose money? I don't think so. I'm not the only way to make money. And I'm not preaching that only my way is the right way. On the contrary. You think webmasters should be treated better. Oh, come on! As if I don't treat the people that submit to me with the upmost respect. In many cases I give the REASON why I decline a gallery, when declined. And I made very clear to many of the posters that they're the one that build the content for the Yellow Pages. I don't demand a reciprocal. I don't demand anybody putting my sponsor links on their page. I don't have a list of preferred submitters that get special treatment. Nothing of that. And YOU insinuate I don't treat the people that submit to me with the upmost respect? Sorry, but that's a pretty stupid attack to make.

You tell me I should link everybody, regardless what sponsors they use. You tell me I'm wrong for declining galleries with sponsors that entrap people or pull other agressive marketing schemes. You tell me I'm wrong because I protect my surfers. In other words: YOU are critisizing the way I (and many other link-sites) run their page. I don't tell people what sponsors they can or can't use. I tell people what I link and what won't get linked. If you want to use entrapping sponsors that auto-bookmark and change your homepage. Fine with me. You won't hear me say you can't. But I won't send my visitors to a gallery advertising something like that.
The ONLY one that's telling certain people what they can't do is YOU. You're accusing other people of doing what only you are doing yourself...
