I have a separate DB server that runs on a very fast machine, so the queries are not the problem. The problem is a huge amount of CGIs that run every second in big amounts as my users tend to hang out on the site for a while once they login. I also have bunch of stats and utility scripts that are running on the background sucking up my server load.
Also, I'm not trying to "handle" the load that I have RIGHT NOW - I'm trying to be ready for the load that I'm going to have TOMORROW. You know what I mean?
