A minor point but here it is:
The pattern I see with webmasters with design backgrounds [and judging from your superb graphics -- you fall under this category] is that they spend a lot of time and effort designing their pages for artistic aesthetics. However, in order to accommodate your audience you don't need high design quality--"utilitarian" is the word that comes to mind in meeting the needs of the thousands of surfers that come to look at free pages.
This critique does not apply to pay sites.
Maybe a good evolutionary process in designing your page is to start simple then change the page as your user bases grows.

I agree, they piss me off too, but I didnt make that page.... sponsors page. Not my doin's. They provide those daily pics on their server so it keeps it fresh for me plus brings some cash... (in theory)
Would you go so far as to suggest putting in some totally clean and fresh content? No blinds, no popups, no bullshit? And if so, where then DO I put the sponsors?
