I join pay sites if they have an interesting concept just to see what they are all about. Recently, I joined
http://www.grownupgirl.com (will someone explain to me how such a complex site...even just the tour, mind you, can be offered in several dozen foreign languages?). I also joined the Dave Cummings site to see guys my age (a bit older, actually) making it with 20 year old girls.
In short, it's not going to be a Cybererotica or Kara's Adult Playground, but instead a niche site or a site that really piques my curiosity.
I can use

I just found out today that I have a guy who's been a member of my own

Some people may just think that a photo is a photo and so a free photo is better than one you have to pay for. And I suppose a lot of photos are that way. However, offer something special and people will come. I know, because when someone offers me something special, I'll often pay for it.
