I rember my first taste of free hosting...I don't think there were any "official" freehosts then
a webmaster by the handle of DJ-JD offerd me free hosting and even paid for the domain (they cost $35 per year back then) and all I had to do was fly his banner in the upper half of every html page...it was hardcoded and done on the honor system.
Ah, the days of putting big pics on html pages with a banner/textlink above and below the big pic...the days of a long scrolling page:
