A nice apartment in a hip location will cost you around 1000 to 1500 USD (na Kampe or Mala Strana), close the City Center around 700 to 1200 USD. The USD lost about 40% of its value over the past 3 years so it is getting expensive.

Broadband internet is available in the center of town and in some of the outskirts. It is available thru cable and dish, but if you want to have it really fast be prepared to pay 100 to 300 USD per month.
Prague is full of tourists so everybody is welcome. If you need to deal with the addministration be to be prpared of some hostility. People working there still dream about the great influence they had under the old cummunistic regime. They still act like they are the rulers of the country and let you feel that. If you are not fluent in Czech you will most likely have to hire a lawyer.
