Negative. Microsoft Access is an MS application and relies heavily on the .net libraries and standard interfaces.

However, SQL is very simple. It's a very straight forward, basic language. You really don't need a fancy GUI.

http://www.webmonkey.com is a great resource site. Sit down with this site, a good attitude and a few spare hours and you can deffinetly master the basics of a MYSQL database.
