things look too small when you have higher resolutions - a banner is 468 pixels wide - it looks like a button on a monitor display 1600 pixels wide. Most websites are designed at less than 800 pixels wide, so if your browser if close to full size the website looks tiny either in the middle of a big vast space or squished into the left side of the browser hahahahahaha.

interesting that 800x600 has now gone the way of the dinosaur.
i'm at 1024 and i don't think if i had a bigger monitor than 19" I'd change it.
