Someone told me once when I started in this business that they'd never seen a stripper that hadn't either been abused or was goign to be abused.
In many cases, I'd say the same thing applies to the adult film business and the escort business. There's just something that doesn't work in the synapses somewhere in the brain I think in the first place.
I work in this industry and I have nothing against people having sex for money on camera or off. It's not my business what consenting adults do with their time or their bodies on a case by case basis. Mister X made the point that people mature at vastly different levels, and age isnt always indicative of maturity.
When I was 17 I was living in NOLA, going to Tulane and moving forward with my life. I was able to handle living unsupervised well enough that I didn't fuck my life up over it. Many of the kids that started school with me didn't make it through a semester, they were homesick, couldn't deal with the stress or the responsibility of managing their own lives. But I also know people that quit high school at 16 and are very successful today without an education, they were simply more mature at that age and could handle their lives.
Kids have sex at ridiculously young ages now. Watch the Maury show or Springer or any of that drivel and you'll see some totally whacked out shit from kids that aren't ever going into porn.

Agreed on the Fletch comment, for the longest time I thought he was a tool with the broken fingers crowd. Seeing his commentary over the last few days I have a different view.
As for the psychoanalysis of the strippers. Anyday, anytime, I have written reems on this subject.
Lastly, I think this is the first time I have seen the content producers, the people in the trenches come out of the wood work and discuss their trade. I find the dialog between the people who have to deal with this on a daily basis and the people sitting in the DMZ to be very interesting.
