Man dies from heart attack after getting a ticket

The family of a Brooklyn man who suffered a fatal heart attack while getting a parking ticket last weekend filed a notice of claim Wednesday on a wrongful death suit against the city, alleging that the traffic agents failed to call 911, according to legal hahahahahahahahas.

Onofrio Avvinti, 61, of Bensonhurst, doubled-parked on 20th Avenue in Brooklyn Saturday afternoon while his wife went shopping, the family's lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, said.

Upon seeing a traffic agent hahahahaha him a ticket for double-parking, Avvinti got out of the car, spoke to the agent, and then got back into the car and began clutching his chest, Rubenstein said.

"Let him pay the ticket," traffic agent L. Hinkson said, walking away without calling an ambulance, Rubenstein alleged at a news conference Wednesday. Hinkson was with another agent at the time.

The incident happened at 12:07p.m., and a 911 call was not made until 12:17 p.m. by Avvinti's wife, Carmela, he said.

"There was an outright disregard for a human life," Rubenstein said.

Paul Browne, the Police Department's deputy commissioner for public information, said the department had a different version of events.

"There is no evidence that the traffic agents were aware of the person's medical condition and witnesses dispute his attorney's version of events," Browne said.

Through tears, Avvinti's brother-in-law, Antonio Leto, 63, said: "We're all so hurt. If the ambulance had come on time, my brother would be alive today."

The family said Avvinti had a previous heart condition, which they declined to specify. They said he was given a clean bill of health in December.

Avvinti came to New York from Sicily 33 years ago and has two children. His funeral is 11:30 a.m. today at St. Dominic's Church at 2001 Bay Ridge Parkway.

To Carmela Avvinti's: Maybe if your husband DIDN'T BREAK THE LAW to begin with, he would be here today, now who's fault is that?

To Sanford Rubenstein the fukin asswipe lawyer: Your Client is the one who disregarded EVERYONE'S life by breaking the law and creating an extremely hazzardous environment.
