BAGHDAD (AFP) - The first secretary of the Iranian embassy in Iraq (news - web sites) was gunned down by unknown assailants in central Baghdad, a day after the Islamic regime sent a delegation to attempt to broker an end to worsening violence here.
The assassination sparked a furious reaction from the Iranian foreign ministry which blamed the US-led coalition for its continued occupation of Iraq more than a year after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein
