As for the question at hand...
Pick up a copy of Quickbooks and start using it for this year. It makes things much more manageable when it comes to getting everything ready for your accountant around tax time. Then you don't have to go thru and add all your stubs together at tax time.

I must say I'm shocked at this question though.
Why not just set up an actual company (LLC, Inc, etc...) so you don't have to deal with 1099s at all?
