if you told the cops that you had been attacked before, then I am POSITIVE they would be very aggresive in searching for this guy... like ftletch said, something just smells a little too fishy just to accept your word, and don't look now but just the other day on the news a girl made up some drama and got caught in a lie....
again I am not trying to belittle you, if you truley need help, then get somewhere safe, and do not be alone, take a camera with you, and shoot pics of any suspecting characters then give that info to the police... fighting here to stir the drama only weakens your story in my eyes...
