Most american weapons are like that. The F15 also sucks, if compared with the Russian Sukhoi 35, but it seems ultra-powerful flying at very high speed and height in Afghanistan.
Too much reliance on shit technology will yet bring the US crashing down in flames, e.g. reliance on the idiotic Missile Shield system.
