Right on. I've been reading the board for a long time, hoping for a thread i could post to without looking like too much of an idiot.
You should take into account that there's a lot more to hosting than just providing the bandwidth. There's power backup, climate controls, the redundant connections, and the server administration for the people that don't know how.
Plus, this super-fast home connection looks like its a ways away, and it'll cost a shitload. So ultimately, you'll probably see a lot of hosts sticking around.
On the other hand, though, anything like this that makes it easier to host your own sites is definitely going to make Web hosting more of a buyer's market for Webmasters.
