There is a story about Albert Einstein. He attended a lecture by a well-known physicist. At the reception afterward, Einstein approached the physicist and said something like "Your thesis seemed intriguing, but I'm not sure I fully understand it. Can you give it to me simply in a nutshell?" The physicist replied, "It's a very difficult concept. I can't really put it into plain language." Einstein replied, "If you can't explain it in plain language, you don't really understand it yourself."
Einstein himself was a master of explaining difficult concepts (like relativity) in terms anyone could understand.
