MS doesn't have anything against JavaScript just Java. Their Scripting Server and ASP both support JavaScript extensively and the HTML DOM would be useless without it.
They'd be crazy to cripple IE by dropping JS since it's so closely coupled with HTML these days. If they do drop it, I'll be rushing out to buy Netscape shares
